ALAPAHA BIG SKY KENNELS
PLEASE TAKE TIME TO LOOK AT THE PEDIGREE BELOW
The ARF has this on their website comparing the two kennels. The one on the right side,
ARF warns buyers and breeders to beware, Cattle Rustler Kennel (ABBA registry). The
kennel on the left side is from a breeder in the south,
as an example of what the Alapaha should look like. According to the new standard, the
ARF wrote. Not the original one Lana Lane wrote herself.

The ARF states:
On the West Coast, an organization known as the ABBA [Alapaha Blue Blood
Association] is producing and advertising a line of dogs which they call
“A-lap’a-ha Blue Blood Bulldogs”. Please take notice that the line of bulldogs
that these men are producing ARE NOT the original “ALAPAHA BLUE
BLOOD BULLDOGS” that came from the
late
this marvelous breed, and we are pleased to share their names and addresses
with you. Other than thru the Foundation [ARF], there is but a limited
amount of information on this rare breed; however, there is enough infor-
mation to help the prospective buyer avoid the pitfalls of the unscrupulous
breeder who would take advantage of one’s ignorance and pocketbook.
The ARF also states that, there is enough evidence to believe that the Breeder
on the right, will do most anything to deceive YOU, the public, to
fraudulently take your money.
Why Am I mentioning this?
Because the Breeder on the left bought dogs from the same breeder on the right
that the ARF said were not pure and the ARF registers them and holds them as good
examples of the breed. How can that be?
Let me explain.
I want to share with everyone the experience I had. I was greatly deceived by this breeder in
H
He seemed to be very knowledgeable and spoke about his years experience as well as hard culling practices
for only the best and purest dogs and many generations of his own dogs under his belt. Sounds impressive..
But when I asked about his dogs pedigree, he only told me of the stud dogs sire’s side and convinced me I
couldn’t get any closer to Lana’s foundation stud dog, Marcelle.
Salesmanship at it’s best !
At the time, unaware of the false information I was given, I took my
bitch to have her bred and only AFTER she had pups and I got the registration papers and paid for a 5 generation
pedigree, did I discover the deception.
Here are pictures of Johnson type American Bulldogs. Reda’s Hells Bells on left, and Reda’s Krunch on the right.
...Simply Not a Alapaha nor do they possess the phenol-type of the original Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs.
PLEASE TAKE A LOOK FOR YOURSELF and see who the sire‘s Dam is.
(Outlined in red)
PROOF Below:
Look at the sire’s side, his dam is all Modern Johnson type American Bulldog.

to an email I got regarding other registries. Someone was asking about the different
registries that would register the Alapaha. I was honest and let them know there are
other registries besides the ARF that register the Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog.
In fact the ARF rules used to read that you could register with other registries as
long as the dogs were first registered with ARF. That tells me they are well aware
there are other registries that will register the Alapaha.
I was terminated from the ARF simply for telling the truth.
Lana herself used other registries.
Lets talk about the ARF Standard .
The ARF has also changed the standard from its original standard written by
“We are proud to say we are bringing it back“!
Notice the part of the standard referring to color, high lighted in red.

Below is the new revised standard from the ARF.
Not preserving Lana’s breed, but changing the Alapaha into what they would
like it to be.
You can see it is different to reflect the ARF dogs of today, allowing more color but not white dogs
with patches..
The new ARF Standard:
PURPOSE: Is for "Guardian", "Protector", and "Family Companion".
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Square, powerfully built; agile and athletic for size, and alert.
Should give impression of nobility; thereby, the term "BLUE BLOOD".
HEAD: Large, flat across the skull, square, heavily muscled in males.
MUZZLE: Square with heavily muscled jaws; length not to exceed 40% of the skull, from
"stop" to "end" of nose, being 2 to 2-3/4 inches in length, plus or minus a 1/4 inch.
NOSE: Color: Black is the ideal color; however, "Gray", or "Liver" color will occur.
EARS: Rose-ears, medium-size, to half-perked with forward roll, carried close to the
head.
EYES: Almond-shaped to round, medium sized. Color: Brown is the ideal color; however,
"Glass" or "Marble" eyes will occur.
NECK: Thick, of medium length.
SHOULDERS: Short length, heavily muscled, and well tied in with the front legs.
CHEST: Wide and deep with a well sprung ribcage.
BACK: Straight; length equal to height at shoulders.
TAIL: Optimum length; should reach the hocks in a relaxed position; come over the back
in an excited position. Final 1/3 of tail to have a gradual upward curvature.
FORELEGS: Straight and extremely thick-boned; toes well knuckled up with thick pads. Dewclaws not removed.
HINDQUARTER: Hips narrower than shoulders; well muscular and in proportion to the forequarters.
COAT: Short-to-medium length; fairly stiff to the touch, with soft undercoat.
COLOR: Any color and white. "Solid colors" and "solid whites" not "Show Stock".
"Show Stock": High points: 40 to 60 percent "color", and "white".
Medium points: Over 60 percent "color", and "white".
Low points: Under 40 percent "color", and "white".
SIZE: Males: 22 - 25 inches at the withers, weighing 70 to 90 pounds. Females: 20 – 23
inches at the withers, weighing 50 to 70 pounds. 1 inch variation in height is allowed. 5 to
10 pounds in variation of weight is allowed.
Note: The male’s height should not be less than 21, or greater than 25 inches, at the
withers. The female’s height should not be less than 19, or greater than 24 inches, at the
withers. The male’s body weight should not exceed 100 pounds, or be less than 65 pounds.
The female’s body weight should not exceed 80 pounds, or be less than 55 pounds.
Note: However, there may be on rare occasions where a male may weigh in at 110 pounds, and
where a female may weigh in at 90 pounds. Therefore, these "Alapahas" can be bred back to a
smaller male, or female, to normalize the Breed Standard’s body weight in the pups. But,
to place the larger "Alapahas" into a "Conformation" show-ring, they would fail to meet the
breed’s standard.
"Alapahas" that would be disqualified to be shown in a "Conformation" show; having …
Docked tails
Cropped ears
Cow-hocked
Deafness, as found in "white" or "almost white" dogs
Eyelids that are turned out
Testicles that have not descended
Swayed backs
Dogs taller or shorter than the breed standard allows
Dogs heavier or lighter than the breed standard allows
All solid "colored" and all solid "whites".
Lets take a look at Lana’s dogs to see if they reflect the new ARF standard.

.
Marcelle Max Zantnone Marble Rebecca
It looks like Lana’s dogs, shown here would have low points under the New
ARF standard.
It doesn’t make since that the founder of the breed would breed low point
point dogs!! Or use them in her breeding program.
As you can see Lana had dogs that were Mostly White or White.
After looking at the original standard written by Lana. Nothing is in the Original Standard,
regarding a certain percentage of color.
The ARF breeders according to there new standard, are Now breeding for Color and claiming
the Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldog was always a dog with a certain persentage of color . It is plain
to see that, it ‘s not so and Never has been so.
Their argument has always been that color equals pigmentation .
That is not so.
Let’s compare these two dogs, the one on the right is Merle and White, the one on
the left is Mostly White. The one that is Mostly White has more/better Pigmentation
(on the nose and eyes as well as eye rims) than the merle one with the nose that didn’t
fill in and blue eyes with less pigmentation .

Don’t be fooled by what people say, Your eyes ARE NOT lying to you !
We understand the need for an out cross. Today’s Alapaha’s have been
bred too long from the same small gene pool. With that in mind. we under-
stand we need a clean out-cross as well to continue the over-all good health
and temperament this breed was Originally bred for. This is why we went back
instead of forward in time to find what were the main components used to make
the Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs. It was Not the Modern-day Johnson type
bulldog, but indeed was the original lines where Mr. Johnsons dogs came from,
which were the Ol Southern White, otherwise known as the White English Bulldog.
We find these dogs are the closest thing out there in both looks (pheno-type),as
well as temperament. Both are the only original
bred for farm utility work and protecting their families. If you do the research, you
will learn how much alike they really are to those chosen by Lana Lou Lane.
